Kate grew up in the seaside town of Hastings where she developed a passion for drawing and painting. She studied Fine Art at the University of Reading before going on to complete a Masters degree in Communications Art and Design at the Royal College of Art, graduating in 2005. During her time at the Royal College Kate was able to indulge her love of children's literature and spent her time writing and illustrating picture books.
Kate has illustrated covers for Puffin Classics and is currently illustrating two of her own picture book concepts for Hachette Children's Books.
