Donough is an Illustrator and author from Monaghan in Ireland. After finishing school in Ireland, he went on to complete a degree in Illustration at University in Bristol and an MA in Brighton, UK.
Since he graduated he has worked as a freelance Illustrator and author, in a variety of areas from Children’s books, editorial, education, advertising and fashion. He has worked for a large number of clients in the UK, Ireland, US and Argentina. He has also taken part in exhibitions in the UK, Ireland, Austria, Brlgium and Italy.
His first picture book ‘Monkey See Monkey Do’ (Frances Lincoln UK) was shortlisted for the Cambridge picture book award in 2007. He has continued to work in Children’s publishing for companies such as Orchard (UK), Futa Fata (Irl) and Barrington Stoke (UK), with recent work selected for inclusion in the Association of Illustrators ‘Images 36’, best Illustrations of 2012 annual.
Donough is a member of the Illustrators Guild of Ireland, and the Association of Illustrators (UK).
His most recent picture books have just been translated into Chinese, Korean, Thai and Scots Gaelic.
