Henning Lohlein is an award winning illustrator, winning the 2015 Sheffield Book Prize, in the baby book category. He grew up in Germany, studied in the South of France and has now lived for over 20 years in Bristol. He has been a professional illustrator since graduating in Bristol and his MA in Brighton University, and has been working for a wide variety of newspapers and magazine in the UK and in Europe, with regular columns in The Guardia, the Financial Times and Country Life. Ten years ago he got selected for the Illustrator’s exhibition in Bologna and since the has,illustrated over 30 books, published in Germany, France, Italy, Denmark, Holland, Sweden, Korea, China, Brazil, Canada and the UK.
His book “My name is Mr Fox” is amongst Julia Donaldson’s 10 favourite recent picture books (The Guardian 22.10.2011).
He works from a studio in a cooperative in the heart of Bristol, with the seagulls flying over head and a selection of coffee shops nearby.
