I have been working as an Illustrator since graduating from the University of Brighton in 1997. However from the earliest of age,
I have always been an illustrator at heart, sketching and doodling at any given chance!
I live in West Sussex with my husband and two daughters, two cats and two large mountain dogs, where I find that children and animals constantly offer humour, chaos and much inspiration to my working day! In between the school runs and dog walks, I absorb myself in my artwork.
I particularly enjoy working in watercolour inks, but my most vital tool is my “Inky Stick”, which is literally as it sounds, a stick and a pot of ink! This gives a great freeness and spontaneity to an illustration, I love it! My work can be seen on greeting cards, stationary and kitchenware products, though I definitely feel that my main achievements are in children’s picture books and gift books, an area that I have always dreamt to illustrate for! Two of my illustrations from my first two picture books were also selected for both the Images 34 and 36 exhibition with the AOI.
